FASET Platform Decking Training
As the founding member of platform decking within the temporary safety systems trade association, FASET, G&M Safe Deck offer both the FASET Platform Installer and Managers courses. We also offer equivalent manufactures training. Our emphasis is on the FASET training scheme as this leads to a CSCS card and industry recognised qualification.
FASET Safety Decking Training
G&M specialise in work at height across all sectors and the provision of temporary safety systems. We work to BS8454, and our instructors are PTTLs & First aid qualified.
Platform decking Systems are becoming the most popular way of dealing with working at height safety issues in high fall risk areas. It provides a safe working platform, enabling roofers, flooring contractors etc. to work in complete safety.
Different Platform Decking Systems are covered within the syllabus, as is relevant to BS EN12811-1:2003, ACR (M) 001:2014 & the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
Our Training Centre
Courses are normally held at our purpose-built training
centre in Middlewich, Cheshire. It is conviently located just of the M6. Classroom and practical work are included and learner participation during the course is
encouraged as are relevant questions and discussion.
Course can also be delivered at your location or on site.
At our training centre G&M deliver the full range of FASET training courses as well as NOCN NVQ qualifications in Safety Net Rigging and Occupational Work Supervision.
FASET Platform Decking Installer training Course
This FASET course covers the planning, installation and practical issues surrounding the correct use of Platform Decking on site.
This course also gives basic information on where Platform Decking systems fall under the various Categories in BS5975, enabling Installers to better understand where Platform Decking Systems have a bearing on their role and the level of design required for different types of Platform Decking Systems and the supporting structure.
Who Should Attend
The course is geared towards site operatives who wish to learn how to install platform decking systems or anybody else who wishes to learn practical skills relating to platform decking.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, candidates will know how to plan for, manage and install temporary platform decking systems. Understand their role and responsibilities, identify faults and issues and remedial solutions. This course only makes the learner a trainee. The GSA4 Assessment must be achieved to gain the full Qualification and apply for the Blue FASET / CSCS Skilled Worker Card – Platform Installer (System Specific endorsed)
Certification
Following course attendance and completion of the test, FASET issue a certificate valid for 5 years.
FASET Platform Decking Manager Training Course
This FASET course covers the inspection planning, management and practical issues surrounding the correct use of Platform Decking on site.
This course also gives basic information on where Platform Decking systems fall under the various Categories in BS5975, enabling managers to better understand where Platform Decking Systems have a bearing on their role and the level of design required for different types of Platform Decking Systems and the supporting structure.
Who Should Attend
The course is geared towards site/project managers & supervisors, health & safety professionals, principal designers and Temporary Works Co-ordinators / Supervisors / Designers.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, candidates will know how to plan for and manage the safe installation of Platform Decking and understand what to expect from a Platform Decking contractor before work starts, identify faults, resultant issues and remedial solutions.
Certification
Following course attendance and completion of the test, FASET issue a certificate valid for 3 years.
G&M Safe Deck Training & Assembly Course
This course is designed for the operative or anyone who wishes to learn how to install the G&M Safe Deck system. The course starts in a classroom environment where the delegate is taken through a slide show presentation that includes technical information, legislation and standards and the theory behind the installation process.
Following the presentation the delegates receive hands-on training on the system so by the end of the day they will be able to install the G&M Safe Deck system to a high standard as well as understand its limitations.

G&M Safe Deck Inspectors Course
This course is designed for the manager/contracts manager, site manager and site safety inspector. The course is classroom-based and consists of a slideshow presentation that includes technical information, legislation and standards and the theory behind the installation process, which leads on to what the inspector is looking for in a system that has been installed correctly and incorrectly and also how to identify faults and damage with the components.
